The first camp!!!

Thank you so much for all of your prayers.  The camp went better than we could have ever expected!  The campers were so beautiful and we were so blessed.  They were from 4th- 6th grade.  They were so cute that I just wanted to huge them all of the time.  So precious and so full of life.  Most of the them were 9 years old.  They were so little!

The theme for this summer is “Ordanary Heros.”  How God can take an ordanary person and do extraordanary things for them and through them.  The Bible studies were all about the life of David.  Since it was only a three day camp this time we had to fit a lot into a short amount of time but through God’s strenght we were able to fit in a lot.  The camper arrived on Monday.

When the campers get off of the bus the counselors were waiting for them with open arms.  From the moment the campers get off of the bus they receive love.  The counselors hug them and help them get their bags to the cabins.  After they are unpacked they came down from the cabins and made wooden name tags that they would wear around their necks to help us remember their names.  The tags are very cool because the campers get to make them all by theirself.  They take great pride in the things that they make and we tell them how talented they are to make such beautiful art.  (they are so cute)  After the names tags we all ate lunch together.  The campers are divided into four teams.  There are either one or two campers per counselor so there is a lot of help.  Through out the week their team gets points for doing activities.

The fun skit in the morning is about a boy named Little Dave (played by Jeremy) and they are spins off of the theme for the day.

I think that the most funny skit was when Little Dave conqured the villians by using the power of his banjo.

Luke and Allison did a great job at loving the campers and telling them about Jesus.  They helped do the hand motions for worship and they were super cute and it is not just because I am their mother.   They are actually the most beautiful children in the world and I am so pround of them.

The campers everyday memorized Bible verse for points for their team.  We know that they did much more than earn points thought.  By memorzing Bible versed God’s word enters their hearts.

Jeremy and I were able to lead games.  It was so much fun.  It was a super hot day (but not as hot as Norco or Arizona) so we played water balloon games.  It went very well.

One of the testimonies that stuck out to me the most was a little nine year old boy that got up at camp fire.  He sat in the chair and held onto the mic.  His legs were so little that they didn’t even hit the ground when he was sitting in the chair.  With his cute legs swing back and forth he began to tell us that his dad was shot and that his mom is in prison.  He said that he is so lonely.  To be able to love a lonely child with God’s love is a beautiful thing.  He is so precious to the Lord and I pray that he will someday know God’s love and receive it.  The best thing that happened at camp was that three kids gave their hearts to the Lord.  They chose to allow Jesus to come into the lives and to allow God to help heal the hurt that they have in their lives.

Thank you so much for your continual prayers for our family and the campers.  We love you guys and know that we couldn’t do this without you behind us.  Thank you!

Thank you!!!

In the Bible Paul tells Timothy, “I thank God everytime that I think about you…”  That is the same way that Jeremy and I feel about Calvary Chapel Norco.  We love you guys so much!

We would like to thank Tim for putting the team together and getting everything lined up.  Tim, thank you so much!!

Thank you so much for coming and helping us.  You have helped in more ways than you know.  Jeremy and I have always loved going on missionary trips and we never knew how much it ment to the missionaries until now.  It means so much to us for you to give up a weekend where you could do whatever you want and serve the Lord that weekend.  The amount of work that got done was way more than we thought was possible for on weekend.

The camp looks great and we really praise the Lord for your willingness to come here.  It was hot and sticky for everyone that was working but I didn’t hear a single complaint from anyone.  You guys are the best.

God sent the right people for the job.  We had benches that needed stained and water sealed.   Hans and his family did that for us.  There are a lot of benches and they look so beautiful now.  Thank you!!!

The oven leaked propane and has for years.  Sometimes the staff would get light headed due to the smell of the leaking gas.  God called Richard up here and he pulled out the stove, fixed the leak, and cleaned the grease out of the kitchen.  Boy of boy was that a hard job.  I don’t know how he did it but I sure am grateful that he did.

Would you beleive that there were over 100 trash cans full of leaves by the time that everyone left.  They would rake an area, scoop it into the trash can, dump it into Jeremy’s truck, and then dump it into the spot for leaves.

The picture above proves that Jeremy is turning into a mountain man.  He is cutting down dead trees and cutting it up for fire wood for the winter.  We said when we moved up we would still be city people just living in the mountains, but I think that we have both already made the switch into mountain people.  And by the way, we love it!!!!  Thanki you so much for coming up last weekend.  You have blessed us more than you know.  Not only did you get a grip of work done that we could have never done by ourselves, the encouragement from the team to us was incredible.  The fellowship ment so much to us.  Thank you!!! We love you!!! God bless!!!

If anyone is interested in coming and helping there is a team from Calvary Chapel Norco that is coming up on July 10th-12th.  We would love to have you.  If you are interested please contact Tim.  Thanks!!!
